Concert at Saint Hill Manor raises funds for local charity
In October of this year, a concert at Saint Hill Manor, East Grinstead, organised by the L. Ron Hubbard Foundation raised £150,000 for the Bluebell Railway. Hollywood actress, Kelly Preston (wife of John Travolta), was the master of ceremonies and performers included the trumpeter and composer Mark Isham, The Jive Aces, Woody Woodmansey and the Golden Era Musicians.
When L. Ron Hubbard lived at Saint Hill Manor in the 1960s, he supported local charities and the purpose of this annual charity concert is to continue that tradition.
And here's a video of Kelly Preston's visit to the Bluebell Railway, made just prior to the concert.
The Bluebell Railway is a heritage line running for nine miles along the border between East Sussex and West Sussex on which steam trains run between Sheffield Park, Horsted Keynes and Kingscote.
The L. Ron Hubbard Foundation was originally formed in 1968 as the Hubbard Foundation of Scotland. Its purpose was to promote and deliver proactive help in the fields of education, exploration and social betterment. Since that time, the Foundation has increased its humanitarian activities and now operates in numerous countries throughout the world providing advice, consultation and humanitarian direction to all those who wish to reach for it.
